First up is this twisted, curvy ornament. I found the basic idea on Pinterest where they used felt. I did try it but found the colourful wallpaper worked better as it is thicker and held it's shape. I had a great Amy Butler wall coverings book I got from work when they were cleaning out. The fresh bright colours and patterns really appealed to me. Take a look at this quick tutorial. . .
Wallpaper not only looks great on walls, but can also be used to wrap gifts,. make cards and even Christmas ornaments. I have used it for years in different ways and this Christmas is no exception. Today I'm going to share with you one of this years creations. ( more to come later). Take a look at this quick tutorial. . . Cut a 6" x 6" square of paper. Then fold in half to form a triangle. Next cut a line almost to the top of point, alternating sides. Do not cut all the way. Space the cuts evenly apart. Open up the square. Next starting in the centre , fold two pieces together and glue. Turn the paper over and repeat moving in each time. Keep turning and finish. Finally I used fishing line to thread through each ornament attaching small white pom poms at either end. Ready to hang! After for making enough for gifts and for myself. I wanted to hang some in a different, creative way. So I used a birch branch I had in a planter outside, putting it on the wall with the ornaments hanging from it. To put it up, I used picture hangers, nailing them into the branch and then hooking them on to the wall. What do you think?
